Lyricus is a cultural archival platform dedicated to the non-commercial preservation and educational documentation of Sinhala music lyrics, chord charts, and artistic heritage. We operate in compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and respect the intellectual property rights of artists, lyricists, composers, and record labels.
We do not own the copyright to the song lyrics or music displayed on our platform. All copyright remains with the original creators and their designated rights holders. If you are a copyright owner or authorized agent and believe that any content published on Lyricus infringes your copyright, you have the right to request removal by submitting a formal DMCA takedown notice.
To submit a valid DMCA takedown notice, your notice must include all of the following mandatory information as required under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):
You may submit DMCA takedown notices through either of the following channels:
Upon receiving a complete and valid DMCA takedown notice, Lyricus's editorial team will review and process your request within 24 to 72 business hours. We will either: remove the allegedly infringing content; reach out to you to request clarification; or, if we believe the content is covered by fair use or fair dealing, inform you of our decision to retain the content with appropriate explanation.
If you are a content contributor whose submitted lyrics or content was removed in response to a DMCA takedown notice and you believe the removal was in error, you may submit a formal DMCA counter-notice to dmca@lyricus.cloud. Your counter-notice must include: identification of the removed material and its location before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; your consent to the jurisdiction of a Federal District Court; and your physical or electronic signature.
In accordance with the DMCA and our platform policies, Lyricus maintains a strict repeat infringer policy. User accounts that receive multiple confirmed DMCA copyright violation strikes will have their accounts permanently suspended and banned from contributing to our platform.
If you are an artist, lyricist, or copyright holder who simply wishes to add or correct attribution credits rather than request full content removal, please contact our editorial team directly at dmca@lyricus.cloud with the subject line "Attribution Request." We handle all credit correction requests with the same priority as formal DMCA notices and will update attributions within 24 hours of verification.
